Founded in İzmir, Turkey by Banu Işıl Koç, Bassepi began as a social mission — bringing the craft of hand-weaving to women who needed independence and a path of their own — and grew into a house defined by the rarest combination in leatherwork: mastery of both fine leather and traditional weaving technique. Each bag is crafted from soft Italian and Turkish nappa calfskin, sourced from the finest tanneries to match the right hide to each weaving pattern, lined in Alcantara and finished with gold-plated hardware chosen for how it feels, not only how it looks. The result is a collection that exists somewhere beyond time — made slowly, inspected rigorously, and built to be kept.
